Description
A well-proportioned pair of Danish lamp tables in solid teak, each raised on gently tapered, round turned legs with a subtle sculptural narrowing above the foot. A single drawer sits beneath each rectangular top, fitted with a hand-carved, faceted teak pull recessed directly into the drawer front rather than applied as separate hardware. Below, a floating lower shelf is joined to the legs with a shaped, waisted stretcher that curves outward at each connection, lending the base a light, sculptural quality despite its solid construction. Drawer boxes are dovetailed and built from a light secondary hardwood, with a teak-faced front to match the case. Each table is finished on all sides, allowing it to be placed freestanding or floated away from a wall.
Each table retains its underside stamp for the Danish Furniture Makers’ Control, the industry quality mark used by Danish manufacturers’ association members to certify solid wood construction and export-grade craftsmanship.
The tops show handsome cathedral grain figuring, with one table’s top reading slightly lighter in tone than its mate, a natural variation consistent with age and use rather than an imperfection. The pair is in good condition overall, with no notable damage.
