Pair of mid century modern three drawer chests from Bassett’s “Mayan” collection. Sold individually. Only one available, the mate has been sold. This theme capitalizes on the jet age of the mid 20th Century. As American’s took to the skies they developed an interest in exotic cultures. A fascination for Far east, South American, and Caribbean culture set off a trend for pieces such as these. The Mayan carvings on the solid wood handles of the dresser are remarkable in person. No particle board. Walnut veneer over solid wood. Chests features three drawers. Use as small dressers or as large nightstands.
