Description
Bassett Aztec highboy dresser, vintage 1960s. The American made dresser features five wide drawers with distinctive Aztec inspired pulls. The upper drawer pulls are gold-colored metal with etched Aztec line-art. The bottom pulls are solid wood with carved Aztec design. This iconic dresser was designed by Leo Jiranek for Bassett and produced between 1963-1967. The Central American inspired design captured the “exotica” zeitgeist of the 1960s. Often mis-labeled “Bassett Mayan” … the “Aztec” collection was advertised as having a “Mayan walnut finish.” Complete your bedroom with the matching long dresser and nightstand (sold separately).
