Description
This ethereal image appears at first to be a purely sublime color field painting. As one dives into the limitless realm of color, subtle distinctions become apperant. As you draw back, the image begins to disambiguate. The broad peach colored masses begin to distinguish themselves as clouds in a sea of blue sky. Toward the lower portion of the painting the darker blue band can be interpreted as the horizon line. This blue band appears as a city skyline obscured by atmospheric perspective, and the field below it seems to be water reflecting the sky. One could escape into this dreamscape and come away with a different vision with each engagement. The large scale painting is signed “Beasley.”
