Mid-Century Modern American of Martinsville’s Dania 4004-14 “Bar Bed” headboard with built-in nightstands. Designed by Merton Gershun, this walnut bed headboard sports a pair of sleek built-in nightstands. The nightstands are seamlessly joined to the main body of the headboard – so discreet, one may not even notice them.
The broad black lacquered table-top comes in handy whether you’re a books, or bourbon type. You don’t have to decide with this bed. There is plenty of room on the “bar” for drinks, books, cellphone, iPad, or even family photos. The bar bed is decidedly one of the coolest pieces from the American of Martinsville catalog.
This bed can be used with a queen or full size mattress. See our photos for diagrams of measurements.
Each side of the bed has the original twist-in tapered legs that can be used to stabilize the headboard. If you choose to secure the headboard to a wall or frame, the legs are not necessary and can be removed to create an eye-pleasing, floating appearance.
The head board comes as pictured. Side rails, slats or metal frame are NOT included.

Condition: Excellent original vintage condition. The headboard has been cleaned and detailed, top to bottom. There are touch-ups on the wood on the bottom front. This area will be concealed by the mattress.
