Exquisitely detailed set of vintage Chinese theme chess pieces carved in a stone-like resin. The standard 32-piece set features a group of black marbled and white marbled figures. The pieces are carved from a resin composite materials that looks and feels like stone. The king and queen are elaborately carved with ornate robes. The queen carries a flower at her chest while the king is topped with a regal head dress. The pawns are represented by samurai carrying swords. Monks acts as the bishops, while mounted horsemen as knight and a pagoda topped tower for the rook. The pieces show hand-tooled marks throughout. This set is sold as pictured, 32 figure pieces, no gaming board.
