Description
Sold as a pair. The leather on these is perfectly broken in. The little imperfections on the rich, cognac saddle leather slings only add to the charm. The warm, honey-colored solid oak frames are virtually flawless after all these decades. Our in-house restoration team conditioned the leather and made a few hand-stitched repairs to ensure many more years of service. If you’re looking for vintage originals, we’re certain you won’t find a nicer pair anywhere.
Pair of authentic Børge Mogensen Spanish chairs, circa 1970s, procured from the original owners. First produced in 1959 for Fredericia Stolefabrik in Denmark. This chair was Mogensen’s interpretation of ancient Islamic designs found in areas from Spain to India. Mogensen’s rendition simplified the Islamic version, stripping it of its ornamentation, thrusting the chair into the 20th Century. The solid oak and leather sling construction exudes a masculine aura. Strong and sculptural, yet somehow maintaining a casual, welcoming presence. Rustic look to the weathered, aged leather saddle style seats and backs. The earthy, dark grain wood and leather add to the vintage charm of the chairs.
