Description
Mid-Century Scandinavian Modern Danish Teak Hutch by Poul Hundevad. This one-of-a-kind creation is a FMV original. We married the cabinet with a sinuous base that was harvested from another piece from many years back. We’ve waited for just the right time to utilize this stunning base. The hutch is expertly crafted with carved solid teak recessed handles, gracing the glass doors. Slide open to reveal cabinet space to the right and left with (8) adjustable / removable teak shelves, making it ideal as a display cabinet bookcase. As a shining example of quality in Scandinavian cabinet making, this piece features choice materials and superior handwork. Marks of quality include tight joinery and subtly contoured legs. To add extra detail to the design, the Edmond Spence style legs and supports are made of a darker solid oak that’s been toned to resemble rosewood. The contrast creates added depth and emphasis on the design.
This teak china cabinet was created in the 1970s and taps into the essence of Danish Modernism with its clean lines, functional design and expert craftsmanship. We have restored this piece to like-new, near mint condition. The base was professionally refinished by our in-house cabinet shop and it looks amazing.
