Monumental brass coffee table with delicately ornamented laurel leaf pattern throughout. The table is atypically obtuse at four feet long and three feet wide. Although massive in scale, the narrow gold rods make the table appear dainty. Air moves freely through the open frame. The original smoked glass table draws the eye inward, anchoring the otherwise gossamer table. It’s fine design exudes elegance, bringing to mind images of ancient Mediterranean cultures. One can imagine this piece in a Roman domus or in an ancient Greek palace.
