Mid-century modern Danish Style Heywood Wakefield desk. Solid oak, dovetail joinery, sculpted drawer pulls and lip-edge top are just a few of the quality characteristics that his piece posses. Made in America in the late 50’s or early 60’s. Elegant and frail look with rock solid American made construction. Finished on both sides, this piece can proudly be displayed in any room of the house, not just a den or office.
This mid-century modern solid oak desk has been completely, professionally restored and refinished by our in-house cabinet shop to excellent condition.
About Heywood Wakefield:
In 1897, two prominent furniture companies, Heywood Brothers (est. 1826) and Wakefield Company (est. 1855) merged to create Heywood Brothers & Wakefield Company; the name would be shortened to Heywood-Wakefield in 1921. The new company rose to particular popularity in the 1930s, 40s, and 50s with its solid wood, Art Deco-inspired mid-century modern furniture.
