Mid-Century Modern Johannes Aasbjerg solid teak sideboard credenza. Made from 100% solid teak (except for the interior shelves), this sideboard is a perfect marriage of design and function, featuring exquisite craftsmanship, a finished back and lots of storage. Similar to the works of Arne Vodder, the bank of five drawers has sculpted bow tie elliptical pulls. The staggered, recessed channels in the tambour doors are unlike anything we’ve seen before. This style provides an added sense of dimension and texture. Slide the tambour doors open to reveal two large storage cabinets, each with a single, adjustable / removable shelf. Shut the doors all the way to conceal everything or achieve another look by leaving the doors partially open around the center drawers.
The construction quality on this piece is unmatched. The dovetail joined old growth teak planks are an eye-pleasing, elegant compliment to the steadfast design. This illusive credenza came to us in already excellent condition but our restoration team still spent many hours mitigating the minor imperfections. We’re certain you find a more sublime representation of this sideboard anywhere.
