Description
Beautifully designed vintage 1980s steel and glass Modern coffee table by Kaizo Oto. Produced by Design Institute of America, the coffee table borrows elements of Art Deco, De Stijl, and Bauhaus Modernism into sublimely elegant form. The luxurious, half-inch thick glass top allows the viewer to appreciate the artistry of the base. The geometric design is a triumph of aesthetics. Each shape is expertly balanced both visually and physically. Oto achieves harmony by masterfully composing asymmetric and contrasting forms. There are whispers of Mondrian and Frank Lloyd Wright in this work, brought to an inventive, modern standard. The base is made of gold colored metal, natural-toned and black painted steel. The finish is completely original.
