Description
Big, bold, bright, at 42″ square this parking-cone orange coffee table refuses to be meek. This table is simultaneously minimalist and maximalist. The designer consciously exaggerated the scale to add presence to an otherwise simple silhouette. Orange is optical equivalent of excitement. We use orange to draw attention, to elicit a sense of warmth and excitement. All of those emotions surface in the presence of this table. The designer took a tried-and-true Parsons table rubric and gave it the full flavor of the 1970s. Even the legs of the table are big and chunky like a pair of platform shoes. The vintage 1970s table is fabulous and durable. The orange surface is made of Formica type laminate. Laminate is incredibly durable and stands up well in rentals, commercial spaces, and homes with children. Parents and pet owners will especially appreciate the sturdiness afforded by the low center of gravity and broad legs.
