Description
Matching pair of authentic Borge Mogensen Spanish chairs, circa 1960s. First produced in 1959 for Fredericia Stolefabrik in Denmark. This chair was Mogensen’s interpretation of ancient Islamic designs found in areas from Spain to Indian. Mogensen’s rendition simplified the Islamic version, stripping it of it’s ornamentation — thrusting the chair into the 20th Century. The solid oak and leather sling construction exudes a masculine aura. Strong and sculptural, yet somehow maintaining a casual, welcoming presence. The Earthy, gently worn wood and leather add to the enduring charm of the chairs. Each of the chair’s leather slings have been professionally re-toned. Today, if purchased new, these chairs would run about $5k each. Garner a pair of investment grade chairs at a steal by shopping with Furnish Me Vintage.
