This Scandinavian Modern sofa is in absolutely stunning original condition. A rare time capsule home treasure. We typically restore all of our upholstered finds, but this couch was in such outstanding condition that we decided to leave the original plaid wool fabric. Not only is the colorful wool fabric a tasteful design choice for any decade, but the orange and lime plaid colors are still rich and vibrant with virtually no sun fading. Soft, yet sturdy foam makes this sofa even more comfortable than it looks (and it looks pretty comfee).
Our team had no luck deciphering the manufacturer of this sofa, but it does exhibit a style similar to some Swedish designers of the time. The bent teak ply arms however have an unmistakable “Thonet” inspired dip halfway down that is rather uncommon. Button tufted seats and side panels add a subtle but stately punch to the overall minimalist styling.
