It’s worth noting that we couldn’t find one single mention of this Thomasville Talisman nightstand end tables anywhere on the web, so we had a hard time pricing it. Very odd. Especially when considering the catalog boasts over 50 creations in the line. I have a feeling these pieces were rather pricey when released in the 1960s (although the catalog says “reasonable”). The intricate inlay and materials may have priced them out of the middle-class market. The construction and quality is also second to none. To produce a similar piece like this today, the expense would be astronomical.
Tops, fronts and end panels are of selected sliced cherry veneers with inlays of quartered tropical olive. Sycamore drawer sides and cherry drawer bottoms. The exposed solid trim is of cherry. Dust-proof construction throughout.
Condition and restoration:
Outstanding overall condition. This time capsule find needed little improvement to make it look almost new. Professionally refinished tops. Detailed top to bottom, inside and out.
