Vintage Arne Jacobsen for Fritz Hansen Egg Chair with ottoman. This chocolatey leather will make you salivate. The color changes depending on the light and angle, but I would describe it as 40% dark chocolate, 40% tobacco and 20% olive. This sinfully decadent amalgam of colors is matched only by the buttery smooth texture. Honestly, the early 70’s versions of this iconic chair are the most sublime. The stitching and fit of the leather from this era is exquisite. Stretched and wrapped tight as the drum, you can set your watch to the precision craftsmanship. There is a Fritz Hansen logo, made in Denmark and number stamped on the underside of the chair base.
The top stem of the chrome base bears the maker’s mark and production date. Excellent overall vintage condition. Leather has very minor imperfections in visible areas. Separated seam under cushion has been sealed with leather repair kit (see pic). The separated seam is only cosmetic and is not visible under the seat cushion. Leather has been professionally cleaned and conditioned.
