Guy Charon is a French painter best known for his brilliantly colored landscape paintings and lithographs. His work is Raoul Dufy, a fellow French Fauvist artist and designer. Fauvist influence can be seen in his flamboyant use of color but his work is takes on a whimsical feel with his painterly style. Born on February 4, 1927 in Écueillé, France, he moved to Paris in 1951 and began exhibiting at the Salon de la Nationale des Beaux-Arts and the Salon des Independants. His works are in the collections of the Musée de Saint-Cyrien, the Musée de Petit-Palais in Paris, and the Musée d’Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris, among others.
