Original and authentic Mid-Century “Mr. Chair” with ottoman designed by George Mulhauser. The magnificence of the fiery grained, rich patinated walnut can’t be overstated. It’s truly the hallmark of the “Mr. Chair”. There’s something indescribably awesome and sinister about the Mulhauser chair outfitted in it’s original white Naugahyde upholstery. The original white Naugahyde has a subtle natural patina so it looks off-white as compared to bright white. The form-fitting, tuftless upholstery style adds an extra dimension of stately minimalism. The leather is drum tight after all the decades.
We’re certain you won’t find a more spectacular, original Mr. Chair anywhere. Our in-house restoration team did a complete tear-down and rebuild to ensure every inch was inspected and delicately restored. Although the walnut wood was already in good condition, we went the extra distance to make sure most imperfections were mitigated. The original ivory Naugahyde cushion shells were removed and each section was professionally cleaned.
The chair swivels and rocks back / returns to upright position against the tension of a metal coil spring. All original labels are present. Both chair and ottoman rest on walnut trimmed 4-star bases.
