Description
Set of four elegant mid-century Chinoiserie chairs. These Eastern influenced dining chairs exhibit a form that can best be described as Chinese minimalist exemplified by designers like Edward Wormley. The jet-set age fascination with exotic cultures is brought to life in this handsome group. The designer chose to temper the Eastern influence with the rubric of modernist simplicity. Details of note include the graceful oxbow shaped back rest and fluid swag legs terminated with luxurious brass caps on the feet. The chairs are constructed of solid mahogany and have been restored with new upholstery on the seats.
All four chairs are in excellent restored condition with only minor imperfections on the mahogany frames.
